A bit about me…
I am a Brisbane-based artist with a love
of textiles and mixed media working on Turrbal Country. My interests range from
a passion for antique textiles through to using modern quilting techniques such
as improvisational patchwork, I also love to create with fibres such as paper
and threads. I am drawn to all things tea-related so I’ll frequently use tea
bags in my arts practice.
My work has been exhibited both
nationally and internationally and my art pieces have been juried into galleries
both in Queensland and interstate. A number of my quilts have received awards
including “Most promising” for her improv quilt at the Queensland Quilt show in
2019.
Textile magazines have featured a number of my works
including her collaborative postcard project, my Bogaji pieces and my travel
journals. Travel continues to inspire my work with the colours, shapes and
textures around me forming part of my creative practice.
Over the years I have
developed my craft alongside full time work and family life. Having recently
retired from work in the field of education, 2023 should prove to be productive.
My studio awaits!
