Creativity has always been an
important part of my life.
Making Visual Art using fabric, textiles,
paper and fibre has been a constant which allows me to explore stitching,
collage, upcycling/recycling, drawing & painting. I can present ideas and views
of my life using a myriad of different mediums.
I find myself drawn to referencing
themes and stories within my work and there always seems to be a twist or a
quirk that just has to be included. “What if….” Is a phrase that constantly
runs through my mind as each piece evolves.
I take inspiration from my friends
and the exceptional artists that I’ve been fortunate to work with throughout my
creative journey, & discussions and problem solving with them enervate my
practice.
The phrase ‘Slow stitch movement’
resonates very strongly with me and I relish the meditative effect of needle
through fabric. This is my favourite form of relaxation and recreation.
I have exhibited internationally, nationally
and locally in both guild and juried touring exhibitions in Australia, the
United States of America, Taiwan and New Zealand.
